Her birth date was March 29 1985 in Roswell New Mexico. Gerina Michel Mendoza was her name at birth. Gerina Stevenson is the daughter of Mexican parentage Rita Stevenson (mother) and Alan Stevenson (father). She has Mexican heritage, but is American in nationality. Since her early years her drive to become engaged in sport was strong. Gerina took up golf when she reached the age of 15. Gerina was a graduate of Goddard High School. As a high school student, Gerina took home in the New Mexico golf state tournament. Also, she played volleyball at the level of state. She began attending in the University of Texas. She was the only winner of all events she took part in throughout her senior years. Through her college years, she received the Conference USA Player of The Year Award as well as the Female UTEP Sports Athlete Award.
