Richard B. Cheney, prominent public servant and a businessman is the vice-president. Cheney is a familiar figure in Washington's political landscape. George W. Bush is the future president of the U.S. will be Cheney's fourth. Bush appointed Cheney as his vice-presidential candidate in 2000, owing to his intelligence and judgment. Dick Cheney served as the chief of staff for the president. He also served as a Member of Congress as well as the secretary of defense. Republicans as well as Democrats both respect his integrity. Cheney stated that he sees the role of an honest yet discreet advisor to the Bush administration. Cheney has accepted the Republican Vice Presidential nominating in 2007 stated that the he would be looking forward to serving under a president that will reach across the aisles and collaborate with rival political parties with goodwill and a common objective. Richard Bruce Cheney was born in Lincoln Nebraska on January 30 1941. He was the father of Richard Herbert Cheney and the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. When he was 13 years old Richard and his family relocated out of Nebraska and moved to Casper where his dad was Director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture local district for soil conservation.
